Why he might be annoying:

He is known for tantrums and violence on the set.
He deliberately cut another actor with his sword during a performance of 'Hamlet.'
He slapped a chorus member in the middle of a musical comedy.
He once walked offstage halfway through a show, saying: 'I just gave a terrible performance - go home.'
His career flopped in the 1990's, mainly because of his temperament.
