    Attended the Rhode Island State College (now University of Rhode Island)
    Guard for the Providence Steamrollers (1946-1949)
    Led the BAA for Assists ((202) 1947)
    Head coach for the University of Rhode Island (1957-1968)

Why he might be annoying:

    He named his son after himself.
    He guided his college team to the National Invitational Tournament Finals where they lost to Kentucky by one point in his last year as a player.
    He never played for a winning team in the professional level.
    Despite being drafted by the Boston Celtics through the dispersal draft, he never played for the team.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was one of the top scoring players in college basketball in the 1940s.
    He shot a 62-foot-long buzzer beater against Bowling Green in a National Invitational Tournament game (1946).
    He was the first-ever player to lead the NBA for assists in one season and the only player from the Steamrollers to lead in that category.
    He guided the University of Rhode Island to the NCAA March Madness twice as a head coach (1961 and 1966).
    He spent his entire basketball career in his home state of Rhode Island as a player and coach.
