Premise: A dude with three wives, in present day Utah, tries to keep his polygamy a secret

Why Big Love might be annoying:

It borrows a lot from the Mormon religion.
The Mormon church protested the series. In 1890 the Mormon church banned polygamy.
Polygamy is illegal in the US.
    Two wives are also sisters.
The show is condemned by intolerant conservatives as an attack on 'family values.'
A number of critics said that you will not be hooked if you watch one or two episodes and must commit to the series.
The acting is far superior to the weak writing.

Why Big Love might not be annoying:

    It exposes corruption in religion.
Assholes like Stanley Kurtz of the National Review claim it is subterfuge to make same gender marriages acceptable (God Forbid!).
    There is nudity.
Tom Hanks is an executive producer.
It's original lead in was 'The Sopranos.'
It is estimated that 40,000 Americans might be in a multiple-partner marriage.
The theme song 'God Only Knows' suggests it is not for us to judge.
Despite the multi-partner relationship, the stories are challenges that face ordinary families.
Dorothy Rabinowitz of the Wall Street Journal called it 'seriously compelling.'
