The Resume

    (August 3, 1872-September 21, 1957)
    Born in Copenhagen, Denmark
Birth name was Christian Frederik Carl Georg Valdemar Axel
Younger brother of King Christian X of Denmark
    King of Norway (1905-57)
Headed the Norwegian government in exile during WWII (1940-45)

Why he might be annoying:

He graduated from the Royal Danish Naval Academy near the bottom of his class.
He married his first cousin, Princess Maud of Wales.
During his coronation, the crown was too big for his head and slipped over his ears.
He slipped in his bath, breaking his leg (1955), and died of complications from the injury two years later.

Why he might not be annoying:

When he was offered the crown, he first asked for a referendum to determine what form of government the Norwegian people preferred. (79% voted for a constitutional monarchy.)
He would ride the Oslo trolleys alongside his subjects.
After he refused to appoint Vidkun Quisling as prime minister, the Luftwaffe bombed the town he had fled to (April 11, 1940).
During the German occupation of Norway, his H7 monogram was adopted a symbol of the resistance.
