    He and a business partner successfully co-founded Appaloosa Management with their own money.
    He reassured Panthers fans of his commitment to the region when he purchased the team, going as far as bringing an expansion Major League Soccer franchise to Charlotte a year after purchasing the Panthers.
    His decision to remove the statue of Richardson was validated after the truth about the latter’s conduct became public knowledge.
