Hockey Player

The Resume

    (May 7, 1998- )
    Born in Älvkarleby, Sweden
    Raised in Oulu, Finland
Drafted fourth overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft
    Forward for the Edmonton Oilers
Also played for Oulun Kärpät (2019-20)

Why he might be annoying:

He chose to wear #98 in Edmonton, which was a poor decision, given who wore #97 and #99 with the franchise.
His development in the NHL was stunted as a result of being rushed into the lineup prematurely.
He initially requested a trade from the Oilers, and spent the 2019-20 season playing in Finland.
His last name is a mouthful to spell and pronounce.
It was speculated he had character issues, after fellow Finnish GM Jarmo Kekalainen passed on him with the third overall pick to select Pierre-Luc Dubois instead.

Why he might not be annoying:

He initially chose #98 in honor of his birth year (and inadvertently unaware of the high expectations of wearing it for the Oilers).
He was born in Sweden to Finnish parents and holds dual citizenship to both countries.
He excelled in hockey and bandy in his home country of Finland.
He rescinded his trade request and made amends with the Oilers franchise to return for the 2020-21 season.
