Why she might be annoying:

    She said, 'I had an ongoing internal war, a conflict between wanting to be a good wife and mother and also to draw, paint, design, write, and shoot videos.
    She was less than thrilled when Diane Keaton revealed that her performance as Kay Corleone in 'The Godfather' was inspired by Eleanor (as both were WASPs marrying into Italian Catholic families): 'I thought that the character was completely repressed by the family.'
    Her most famous film is a documentary about her husband making a film.
    Her husband initially was not happy with 'Hearts of Darkness': 'He felt it made him look too out of control.'
    When the family was photographed after daughter Sofia won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for 'Lost in Translation,' most pictures cropped the picture so that the only part of Eleanor left in the frame was her elbow (2003).

    She met Francis Ford Coppola when she was an assistant art director on his first film, 'Dementia 13.' (1963)
    She and her husband have a pact to never spend more than three weeks apart.
    She and Francis Ford celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2023.
    Her son Gian-Carlo died in a boating accident (1980).
    She directed her first non-documentary at age 80.
    In addition to making films, she has been a photographer, painter, conceptual artist, costume designer for the Oberlin Dance company, and manager of the family winery.
