Why Bismarck, North Dakota might be annoying:

It has a lot of wheat.
Its first airport was a cow pasture.
It is very white (in climate, of course).
Rumor has it that it was named after some German guy.
Its name sprung only from a desire to attract German settlers (it didn't work).
It was so lawless in its early days that one section was dubbed 'Murderers' Gulch.'
A gigantic Nazi battleship shared its name.

Why Bismarck, North Dakota might not be annoying:

It's home to the world-famous North Dakota Capitol Building!
It has an extremely low violent crime rate, with only one murder in 2004.
It's more politically correct than its lesser-known neighbor of Hitler, North Dakota.
It is North Dakota's second-largest city, which isn't saying much.
Lewis and Clark camped close to its area (1804-1805).
