The Resume

    (January 31, 1948-September 29, 1992)
    Born in Brooklyn, New York
    Songwriter/singer/actor
Member of the original casts of ‘Hair’ and ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’
Replaced Tim Curry in the Los Angeles production of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ (1974)
Recorded the albums ‘Shout Out!’ (1977), ‘Keeping Time’ (1978), ‘The Third Album’ (1979) and ‘Paul Jabara and Friends’ (1983)
Wrote the songs ‘Last Dance’ for Donna Summer, ‘The Main Event/Fight’ for Barbra Streisand, ‘No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)’ for Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer, and ‘It’s Raining Men’ for the Weather Girls

Why he might be annoying:

He wrote the musical ‘Rachael Lily Rosenbloom (And Don’t You Ever Forget It),’ which closed during its Broadway preview, losing $500,000 for investors Robert Stigwood and Ahmet Ertegun (1973).
His career pretty much died out when disco did.
He called his last album, ‘De La Noche: The True Story’ (1986), a ‘poperetta’ (presumably, ‘pop operetta’ wasn’t quite pretentious enough).

Why he might not be annoying:

‘Last Dance’ won an Oscar for Best Song and a Grammy for Rhythm and Blues Song of the Year (1978).
His album ‘Paul Jabara and Friends’ featured vocals by 15-year-old Whitney Houston.
He was a founder of the Red Ribbon Project promoting AIDS awareness (1991).
