While playing junior hockey with the Waterloo Blackhawks, he attended Waterloo West High School in Waterloo, Iowa where he graduated in 2012.
He was drafted by his hometown Blackhawks club, in which he played two stints with.
He recorded 19 goals and 57 assists over two seasons at the University of Notre Dame.
He signed with the Panthers, with the hopes of trying to build inroads with the Latino demographic in South Florida.
