The Resume

    (March 11, 1983-November 23, 2016)
    Born in Mexico City, Mexico
Birth name was Renato López Uhthoff
Mexican television host and pop singer
Former guitarist for the rock band 'The Prom Kings'
Acted in 'Macho,' 'Se Habla Rock,' and 'El Cielo en tu Mirada'
Hosted Spanish-language network shows 'Zona Trendy,' 'MxDiseña,' 'Vivo,' and 'E! Latin News'
Body was found with bullet wounds in a car near Greater Mexico City, along with his publicist Omar Girón Juárez (Nov. 24, 2016)

Why he might be annoying:

He acted in commercials as a kid.
    He maintained a MySpace account.
He attained the hosting gig for 'E! Latin News' after the sudden departure of John Paul Ospina, in 2010 (who left to focus on his music career).
He repeatedly denied being a fashionista, even though his hosting roles essentially filled that job description.
He lambasted the election of Donald Trump to the Presidency with a series of angry tweets ('For the first time I am ashamed to be an American citizen,' 'Sadly the power of a country does not reflect the intelligence of its citizens. Sadly.')

Why he might not be annoying:

His family moved to the US when he was six, variously relocating to Los Angeles, Miami, and New York.
As a result, he was bilingual - speaking both English and Spanish.
He acted in Gloria Trevi's music video for 'Vestida de azucar.'
He launched his hosting career by filming a homemade audition tape on the beaches of Playa del Carmen.
He was also a part-time songwriter who penned the lyrics to Paty Cantú's 'Si pudiera' and Trevi's 'Fuego con fuego' hit.
He debuted a popular boot line in collaboration with Paruno Soul Creations (Oct. 2016).
At the time of his death, he had been in a committed seven-year relationship with Swedish blogger Alexandra Ivanisevic.
He died during a promotional campaign for the Mexican movie, 'Machos' (which would have signaled a new phase in his career).
While the exact circumstances of their deaths, or the motive for killing him and his agent, remain unclear, they appeared to have been victims of a brutal gunfire ambush.
He was profusely mourned throughout the Spanish-language entertainment industry (e.g. Gloria Trevi calling him 'an excellent friend,' 'talented,' and 'truly good person'; Juanes tweeting 'It was an honor to have you in our journey. It's an immense sadness...')
