Why he might be annoying:

    His singing voice has a nasally sound.
    His self-titled album was essentially an altered version of his debut album 'Somewhere Inside', with some omissions from the original album.
    He recorded a song called 'Pamela Anderson Is In My Bedroom.'
    His signature song 'I Waited' failed to chart in the United States, which was a stark contrast to its success in Canada two years earlier.
    He left his record deal at Warner Music, in order to seek more creative control over his career.
    His mainstream country music career in the United States did not have the same degree of success as his Canadian career.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He began performing in his home province of New Brunswick at the age of 5.
    He recorded an independent album, which made its way to Reprise Records, earning him a record contract at the age of 17.
    He writes most of his own songs.
    His rendition of the John Sebastian single 'Welcome Back' was seen as his homecoming song, as he moved back to his home province in 2007.
    He was appointed the Ambassador of the province by the Government of New Brunswick a year after he reestablished his residency.
