Why they might be annoying:

They were assembled by songwriters Andy Hill and Nichola Martin for the Eurovision contest.
They were named after Martin's favorite drink.
They were chosen for their looks (all four had to blonde) as much as their singing ability.
They have had fifteen members, with Bobby G as the only constant.
Aston quit after admitting to an affair with Andy Hill, who was married to the band's co-creator, Nichola Martin.
Bobby G and replacement member David Van Day had a long-running legal dispute over ownership of the band's name.

Why they might not be annoying:

'Making Your Mind Up' topped the charts in Britain and eight other countries.
In a 2005 BBC poll of the most memorable Eurovision moments, the top pick was the Bucks Fizz routine in which the male singers yanked off the female singers' skirts, revealing shorter skirts underneath.
Their biggest British hit, 'The Land of Make Believe,' was co-written by King Crimson's Peter Sinfield.
All four singers were injured in the crash of their tour bus (December 11, 1984), with Mike Nolan falling into a coma for three days from a head injury.
Nolan and Cheryl Baker set up the charity HeadFirst for accident victims with head injuries.
