The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

    He's a Stephen Colbert/Seth Meyers wannabe.
He specializes in Jesse Watters-style 'Man on the Street' segments that cherry picks the most uninformed people to spotlight (in this case usually at Trump rallies and Vaccine mandate protests) and prove a political point.
His own satire news show on Comedy Central, was cancelled after one season in 2018.
His second docuseries, simply titled 'Klepper,' also failed to attract a following - resulting in his crawling back to The Daily Show.
He got into a heated exchange with My Pillow's Mike Lindell over claims about the 2020 Presidential election that resulted in Lindell walking off the interview.

Why he might not be annoying:

He once studied abroad in London.
He's first cousins with Tim Allen.
He began his career as a member of Upright Citizens Brigade and The Second City (where he met his future wife).
He was hired four days after his Daily Show audition, during Jon Stewart's last year on the show.
He filled in as the Daily Show host for an October 2016 show when Trevor Noah was out sick.
His Trump supporter interview segments are a fan favorite with the left wing Resistance crowd.
He was delivering on-the-ground coverage of the January 6th Capitol riot which later raked in over 10 million views on the Daily Show's YouTube channel.
