Why he might be annoying:

    His middle name is Haymes.
He acted in the Vanilla Ice movie 'Cool as Ice.'
Ilya Salkind claimed he was fired after the first season of Superboy due to his arrest for a DUI (his contract had a morals clause).
It was also reported, however, that the producers were just weren't that happy with his performance (it didn't help that he tried to renegotiate a 20% increase on his salary). Gerard Christopher was cast for the rest of the series.

Why he might not be annoying:

He shares a name with the cleric who wrote Amazing Grace.
He spent three and a half years training and performing theatrically in New York City.
He was on vacation with family near his hometown in North Carolina when he was discovered by Lynn Stalmaster who cast him in the title role on Superboy.
He later reconciled with Ilya Salkind and the two provided audio commentary for two episodes on the 'Superboy' show's DVD release.
He and his wife Jennifer lent their voices as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, respectively, in the animated fan film Superman Classic by animator Robb Pratt.
He is happily retired and focused on energy healing practices, saying: 'My spiritual path started in 1985 when I learned to meditate, began extensive Martial Arts training and became health-conscious.'
