Why he might be annoying:

He had a collection of over 2,000 toy soldiers.
The Village Voice called his paintings 'Formulaic stuff, not very effective even as illustrational realism.'
He created nearly 250 paintings and drawings, including many nudes, of his neighbor Helga Testorf without the knowledge of either his wife or her husband.
He said, 'I'm a secretive bastard. I would never let anybody watch me painting. It would be like somebody watching you have sex.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was married to Betsy James Wyeth for over 60 years.
He had his first one-man exhibition at age 20, which quickly sold out.
He was the first painter to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom (1963).
He was the first living American artist elected to Britain's Royal Academy (1980).
He commented on rumors about his relation with Helga Testorf, 'People said, 'Well, you're having sex.' Like hell I was. I was painting and it took all my energy to paint.'
