    Also wrote 'Opening Shots: The Unusual, Unexpected, Potentially Career Threatening First Roles That Launched the Careers of 70 Hollywood Stars' and 'Starring John Wayne as Genghis Kahn: Hollywood's All-Time Worst Casting Blunders'

    He quit his job as a lawyer in order to co-write 'Inside Oscar.'
    Bona and Wiley missed their original publication deadline of November 1982.
    He was a San Francisco Giants fan.
    He had disdain for Oscar-winning screenwriter Billy Wilder's cynicism.

    He was a film critic for Columbia Daily Spectator, the college newspaper for Columbia University.
    He earned a law degree from New York University.
    After co-author Wiley died in 1994, Bona wrote 'Inside Oscar 2,' an update to their original book.
    Andrew Sarris praised 'Inside Oscar' for its complete and nearly accurate history of the awards.
    The book later inspired Academy historian Robert Osborne to write an official exhaustive history of the Academy Awards.
