Because of their location, Vince Carter's nickname is Air Canada even though he's American.
Carter attended his graduation prior to playing in the deciding game of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. He missed a buzzer-beater that would've sent the Raptors to the conference finals.
Their first general manager was Isiah Thomas.
Why they might not be annoying
They did what the Toronto Huskies and the Vancouver Grizzlies couldn't do: be a successful NBA franchise in Canada.
They made the playoffs three straight years in the early 2000's.
Carter has led the All-Star balloting for several seasons.
Carlos Rogers, a Raptors forward, almost gave up his career when he thought about donating a kidney to his sister (she died before he got the chance).
