Beauty Contestant

The Resume

    (July 7, 1980- )
    Born in Alabama
    Miss Alabama (2004)
    Miss America (2005)
Became an OB-GYN specializing in infertility issues

Why she might be annoying:

She began competing in beauty pageants to earn money after losing her volleyball scholarship when she transferred from the University of Virginia to Stamford.
She married and divorced her college sweetheart.
She met her future wife, Abbott Jones, through an online dating site.
During her first date with Jones, she joked that she was the only woman in Alabama who could get her pregnant.
Proving that wasn't just an unusual pickup line, she actually performed the embryo transfer when Jones underwent in vitro fertilization.
However, she did not perform the egg retrieval on Jones, as it was considered 'too invasive' a procedure to be done by a loved one.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her interest in medicine was sparked by the two hip operations she underwent after a car crash during high school.
She was a Rhodes Scholar finalist.
She was a spokesperson for the Cure Search National Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Before becoming Miss America, she had persuaded the state of Alabama to offer a 'Curing Childhood Cancer' license plate, with revenues from the purchases funding cancer research.
She was a judge at the 2014 Miss America pageant.
She was the first Miss America to marry someone of the same gender (2018).
Her eight-year-old son from her first marriage was the best man at her wedding to Jones.
