Best known for the songs ‘Eight Miles High,’ ‘Radar Love,’ and ‘Twilight Zone’

Why they might be annoying:

After the 1973 hit, ‘Radar Love,’ they didn’t have a hit until ‘Twilight Zone’ came out nine years later.
Their popularity in America was short-lived.
They experimented with drugs.
The original artwork for the album ‘Moontan’ was banned because it featured a nude Vegas showgirl, and a nude Barry Hay.
During a live show, a pyrotechnics failure led to George Kooymans’ guitar catching fire and exploding. A large metal piece hit George in the neck, and Golden Earring was unable to play the rest of the tour.

Why they might not be annoying:

Many have called ‘Radar Love’ the ultimate driving song.
They were signed to The Who's record label.
Roger Daltrey personally picked them to be The Who's opening act.
They toured with The Who, Santana, and The Doobie Brothers.
They are extremely popular in Holland.
They have had the same lineup since 1970.
