Why he might be annoying:

He dropped out of school at age 17, after repeated truancy and a stint in reform school.
He took the name ‘Bo’ from the character he portrayed in the play ‘Bus Stop.’
He went from being typecast as trigger-happy outlaws early in his career to being typecast as small-town sheriffs late in his career.
He turned down a chance to audition for the Han Solo part in ‘Star Wars.’ (Apparently, he found George Lucas’ description of the film as ‘cowboys in space’ less than enticing.)

Why he might not be annoying:

He was nine months old when he was adopted by a couple unable to have children.
He served nine months in the Korean War with the <12033>101st Airborne<12033>.
When he studied at the Actors Studio, one of his classmates was Martin Landau.
He said that when ‘The Wild Bunch’ played in his hometown, ‘That’s when everybody who said I was gonna end up in prison said they always knew Billy was going to make something of himself.’
