The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He struggled with alcoholism during the first few years of his retirement from hockey.
He was virtually unknown by modern hockey fans, prior to Ottawa’s 1990 expansion bid.

His untimely death threw a wrench in the Senators marketing campaign ten months before the modern team was set to begin play.

Why he might not be annoying:

He played hockey for the University of Ottawa, prior to signing with the Senators.
He stayed true to his roots and remained in his hometown of Shawville after beginning his pro career.
He was considered a key cog for the Senators 1927 Stanley Cup championship team.
He earned a second Stanley Cup ring as a member of the Maple Leafs (1932).
He scored the final goal in the history of the original Senators franchise.
He established himself as a successful entrepreneur in the Ottawa area following his retirement from hockey.
