Premise: A detective solves crimes in Hawaii

The reason why it was set in Hawaii was so that CBS could re-use the sets of 'Hawaii Five-O.'
The show was originally supposed to end in the seventh season with Magnum getting murdered by mobsters, but because of fans' objections, the producers kept the show on another year.
It had an extremely small regular cast.
They had a character, Robin Masters, who is only heard, but never seen (Can you say 'Charlie's Angels')?
Tom Selleck lost the part of Indiana Jones because of his contract.

It made Tom Selleck's mustache a cultural icon.
