    Member of the Ottawa City Hockey League (1902-03), Canadian Amateur Hockey League (1903-05) and the Federal Amateur Hockey League (1905-08)
    Challenged the Montreal Wanderers for the Stanley Cup (January 9-13, 1908)

Why Ottawa Victorias might be annoying:

    They participated solely in exhibition matches for their first couple seasons.
    They won the FAHL championship, by virtue of a forefeit (1907).
    They were outscored 22-4 in their two-game Stanley Cup challenge against the Montreal Wanderers, which included a 13-1 defeat in the second game (1908).
    They refused to play a rented team from Brockville, which played a factor in the demise of the FAHL.
    They ceased operations weeks after their Stanley Cup defeat.

Why Ottawa Victorias might not be annoying:

    They were one of the first hockey teams to employ a purple and white color scheme.
    They had a two-year undefeated streak as an amateur team (1901-03).
    They won the Ottawa City Hockey League title in their first season (1903).
    Future Hockey Hall of Fame inductees Eddie Gerard and Tommy Smith were members of the team.
