Why she might be annoying:

Her famous blonde hair was actually a wig.
She had an affair with director Rex Ingram on the set of ‘Hearts are Trumps.'
She and Ingram spent the day after their elopement watching movies.
Erich von Stroheim was impressed by her work as an extra in one of his films, but shyness made her flee the set.
She sued Columbia over how she was depicted in the 1951 biopic ‘Valentino.'

Why she might not be annoying:

At a time when actors often (to modern viewers) over-emoted, her dramatic style was sophisticated and subtle.
She was offered the female lead in Rudolph Valentino's smash hit ‘The Sheik' but couldn't accept it due to a scheduling conflict.
She and sometimes co-star Valentino had good chemistry, but Ingram's dislike of him made it impossible for her to continue working with Valentino.
Her marriage to Ingram was long and happy, ending only with his death in 1950.
