He served in the Air Force from 1988-1992, flying 45 missions in support of Operation Provide Comfort in northern Iraq, an effort that helped provide relief and humanitarian aid to Kurdish refugees.
During his NFL career, he amassed 28 sacks, 6 fumble recoveries, 4 return yards and 1 touchdown.
Despite his hulky figure, he is touted by friends and teammates as a nice guy who is both humorous and inspirational.
