The Resume

    (September 8, 1897-March 30, 1992)
    Born in Germany
Winner of Saturday Night Live’s ‘Anyone Can Host’ contest
    Hosted on December 17, 1977

Why she might be annoying:

She really was not given a lot to do in the episode she hosted.
She was upstaged by musical guest Elvis Costello, who stopped in mid-song, then began playing ‘Radio, Radio,’ an attack on broadcasting he had been specifically asked not to perform.
Her record as SNL’s oldest host was finally surpassed when Betty White hosted at age 88 (May 8, 2010).

Why she might not be annoying:

In her contest entry, she wrote, ‘I need one more cheap thrill, since my doctor told me I only have another 25 years left.’
On the episode where the five finalists were revealed (November 19, 1977), she got the biggest laugh when she introduced herself with, ‘I’m Miskel Spillman. I’m old.’
She did not do any worse than other non-entertainers, like Hugh Hefner or Norman Lear, who hosted SNL.
A dozen years later, she told ‘People’ magazine that she still watched SNL and was a fan of the current cast, ‘especially that fella in the dress,’ referring to Dana Carvey’s Church Lady.
