The Resume

    (May 17, 1792-May 16, 1860)
    Born in London, United Kingdom
Birth name was Anne Isabella Milbanke
    Married Lord Byron
    Mother of Ada Lovelace
Was Baroness Byron through marriage and 11th Baroness Wentworth in her own right

Why she might be annoying:

She was the cousin of Byron's previous lover, Lady Caroline Lamb.
She and Byron separated shortly after their first anniversary.
Byron called her 'a nice little sullen nucleus of concentrated savageness.'
When her daughter was dying from cancer, she refused to allow her opiates for the pain.

Why she might not be annoying:

Growing up, she was fascinated by mathematics, leading Byron to nickname her the 'princess of parallelograms.'
She passed this interest onto her daughter, who became known for her work with mathematician Charles Babbage.
During a visit to Byron's half-sister Augusta Leigh, she slept alone in a guest room while Byron and Augusta shared the master bedroom.
She provided financial support for Augusta's daughter Medora despite her suspicions that Byron was the girl's real father.
When she was pregnant, Byron would occupy the room below her bedroom and throw bottles at the ceiling to keep her awake.
After Byron's death, she committed herself to social causes such as prison reform and the abolition of slavery.
