Why they might be annoying:

Iyall said about their audiences as the band gained popularity, ‘I thought, ‘These are the people who hated me in high school.’’
They frequently clashed with Columbia Records over their musical direction, at one point during the sessions for ‘Benefactor,’ sneaking into the studio at night to record a song the way they wanted it to sound.
They broke up shortly after scoring their only Top 40 hit.
Iyall’s explanation for their break-up: ‘We got tired of each other.’

Why they might not be annoying:

The band formed at the San Francisco Art Institute.
Zincavage was also a graphic artist and photographer who designed album covers for several indie label releases.
AllMusic called their debut album ‘a masterpiece of American post-punk.’
’Never Say Never’ was produced by Ric Ocasek of the Cars.
Columbia Records reportedly pressured Iyall to lose weight and stopped promoting the band after she refused.
