Defenseman for the Minnesota North Stars (1986-90), Calgary Flames (1990-95), Ottawa Senators (1995-97) and the Edmonton Oilers (1997-2001)

Why he might be annoying:

His draft stock fell as a result of NHL personnel being unsure on whether or not he could leave Czechoslovakia.
He abandoned his girlfriend at a Yugoslavian resort to go meet with North Stars personnel about a contract.
He was notorious for turning the puck over in his own zone.
This prompted Don Cherry to call him 'Metamusil' as a result.
He recorded a career high 213 penalty minutes during his second NHL season.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was successfully able to defect to the United States after being issued an American work visa, which was able to fool the Yugoslavian authorities, who were unaware he was actually defecting out of Czechoslovakia.
He impressed his coaches and teammates alike with his work ethic.
He played a bruising style of play, which was unheard of for a European at the time.
He was a member of the Czechoslovakian national team that won the Gold Medal at the 1985 World Championship.
He married Czech tennis star Andrea Holikova, the sister of fellow NHL player Bobby Holik.
