The Resume

Why Survivor 34: Game Changers might be annoying:

It had only been one and a half years since the last all-returnees season.
Most of the players were not particularly known for their 'game changing' abilities (perhaps the producers put the cast together first, and then came up with the theme).
They didn’t change the game much; most of the challenges had appeared on previous seasons.
Could it truly be a season of game changers without Sean Rector (who orchestrated the first major blindside in Survivor history), or Dreamz (who changed the entire outcome of his season by infamously going back on his promise to Yau-man), or Chaos Kass (need we say more)?
We’d also be remiss if we didn’t mention the absence of Russell Hantz, who epically changed his season’s game when he tricked Tyson Apostol into voting against the wrong person.
They had to put up with Michaela’s sour attitude when things didn’t go her way.
Game designers once planted a secret advantage at the sit-out spot to provide the odd one out of the challenge a lifeline, and Michaela (the odd one out) was too pissed off to notice it!
When they tried to split and reshuffle the two original tribes into three new ones, J.T. was the only one from Nuku to remain on that tribe, and Troyzan was the only one from Mana to be sent to Tavua.
Even though Tavua didn’t lose any of its members during the game, it was disbanded when they went back to two tribes.
In the episode where Debbie got exiled, she got to spend her exile on a party boat with a table full of food and wine!
They had a Ciera and a Sierra in the same game.
Two of the Favorites from Caramoan came back for a third time, but none of the Fans from that season participated.
In what might be the most controversial 'Survivor' moment ever, Jeff Varner put his foot in his mouth at Tribal Council when he accidentally revealed to the world that Zeke was transgender.
As a result, they didn’t even bother to vote that night; they just all mutually agreed by acclamation to send Varner out of the game.
Varner, in fact, failed to make the jury phase for the third time in as many tries, leaving him with only 50 days in the game over three seasons.
Cirie tried to play Sarah’s vote-stealing advantage, only to learn that the advantage was non-transferable.
The next night, Cirie also became the first person ever to be voted out by default, after everyone else claimed immunity either though the immunity challenge, idols, or the Legacy Advantage.

Why Survivor 34: Game Changers might not be annoying:

They gave 20 past players a second, third, or fourth shot at a million dollars.
Troyzan and Brad, who were rejected by voters for the Cambodia season, were hand-picked by producers for this one, and they both made the finals!
Also, Culpepper played a more social game and was actually likeable among players this time.
Queen Sandra finally got overthrown on Day 16.
The Legacy advantage, introduced the previous season, was modified so that it could be used as an immunity idol at random intervals, not just near the end of the game.
In a touching moment, Jeff Probst allowed Cirie to complete an obstacle course after the challenge ended, so she could prove to herself that she could do the task.
Sierra Dawn got on as an alternate this season when San Juan del Sur winner Natalie Anderson backed out at the last minute.
In an unprecedented twist, two of the three tribes in the game once held a joint Tribal Council, where together, they voted out one person.
Sarah found and pocketed the advantage Michaela missed.
Cochran made a cameo on the exile boat with Debbie.
Zeke's involuntary outing gave America a lesson in the ethics of revealing someone’s personal information.
At the reunion, Probst finally revealed what the tiebreaker for the final jury vote would be if it were ever needed: the finalist not tied for first would decide the Winner.
