Playwright

The Resume

    (circa 525 BC-circa 456 BC)
    Born in Eleusis, Greece
    Called the Father of Tragedy
Wrote 'The Persians,' 'Seven Against Thebes,' 'The Suppliants,' 'Prometheus Bound' and the Oresteia trilogy: 'Agamemnon,' 'The Libation Bearers' and 'The Eumenides'

Why he might be annoying:

He claimed he took up drama after being visited in a dream by the god Dionysus.
He wrote an estimated 70-90 plays, but only seven survive.
According to legend, he died when an eagle mistook his bald head for a rock and dropped a turtle on it to break the shell.

Why he might not be annoying:

He revolutionized drama by having characters interact directly with each other. (Before, they only interacted with the chorus.)
Of his seven surviving plays, six won first prize at Athens' annual Dionysia competition.
He fought at the battle of Marathon, where the Greeks defeated an invading Persian army.
