The Resume

    (February 16, 1960- )
    Born in Sheffield, England
Original member of Def Leppard (1977-1982)
Contributed to band's albums 'High n Dry' and 'On Through the Night.'
    Replaced by Phil Collen

Why he might be annoying:

He was the Pete Best of Def Leppard, fired before the band made it big.
His drinking and partying led to his termination. (1982)
Def Leppard was recording a song in their 'Pyromania' album when he was too wasted to perform; the record later became a huge success.
His absenteeism angered Mutt Lange, who then had singer Joe Elliott call him to tell him he was canned.
He was vertically challenged, which was obvious in early band photos where he stood alongside six-foot-one Joe.
His following attempts to assemble a music ensemble failed.

Why he might not be annoying:

He and Def Leppard bassist Rick Savage formed Atomic Mass in the late 70's.
He was responsible for bringing in Joe Elliott (who later renamed the band) and Steve Clark.
He provided songwriting contributions and guitar tracks to several of the band's songs on their breakthrough album 'Pyromania.'
He retired from show business in 2003 and became a property manager.
Unlike Clark (who died in 1991), he survived his own excessive drinking.
His story serves as a cautionary tale on how reckless drinking and partying can end a career before it takes off.
