    He is the least known amongst the winners of the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award.
    He never played sports at the professional level.
    He helped spearhead the formation of the National Basketball Trainers Association, in a move similar to the players association.
    He admitted to being a workaholic during his career with the Hawks.
    He bears a striking resemblance to Stephen Tobolowsky.

    He played both football and track, while attending SUNY - Cortland.
    He served as the head trainer for the Hawks for 28 of the team's first 29 seasons in Atlanta.
    He, is the second non-playing personnel, after Frank Layden to win the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award.
    He has the distinction of working the sidelines at every home game the Hawks played at The Omni Coliseum.
    He was described as being a genuine unselfish person, who genuinely cared about the players he looked after.
