    Melanie Wilson as Jennifer Lyons
    Rebecca Arthur as Mary-Anne Spencer
Jo-Marie Payton Noble as Harriette Winslow (1987-9)
Sam Anderson as Sam Gorpley (1987-92)
Belita Moreno as Lydia Marcum (1987-92)
    F.J. O’Neil as Mr. Wainwright (1987-92)
Ernie Sabella as Donald ‘Twinkie’ Twinkacetti (1986-7)
    Situated in Chicago
Premise: An aspiring photographer from Wisconsin settles in Chicago when his distant cousin from the Mediterranean suddenly moves in with him

Why Perfect Strangers might be annoying:

Balki was a rip-off of Latka Gravas from ‘Taxi.’
The show portrayed foreigners as being too naïve.
It gave viewers the wrong message that the naïve always succeed.
It portrayed Americans as complex, crafty money-hungry people.
Harriette was more obnoxious on this show than she was on her spin-off.
The viewers constantly had to hear Larry say: 'Balki! I have a plan!'
    Larry was a big crybaby.
Balki did his share of crying too.
Larry seemed to want quick money and success.
Larry constantly lied to impress Jennifer.
Once he told Jennifer that he skied at the 1976 Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria.
There was a big hiatus between the episodes Larry and Balki got married to the time their sons were born.
Bronson Pinchot once did a double-role as himself and his crazy mother.
They did the dance of joy.
Belita Moreno originally played Twinkie's wife before she got the permanent role of Lydia.

Why Perfect Strangers might not be annoying:

It was a show about two young ambitious adults trying to achieve success in their own ways.
Eventually both people succeeded: Balki became a cartoonist and Larry became editor of the Chicago Chronicle.
Considering Larry had no prior experience in journalism, he did very well in his job.
The theme song lyrics fit well with the general plot of the show.
It spawned the successful spin-off, ‘Family Matters.’
