Hockey Player

The Resume

    (August 5, 1964- )
    Born in Nepean, Ontario, Canada
Forward for the Harvard Crimson (1984-87) and the Nottingham Panthers (1987-88)
Assistant general manager of the Ottawa Senators (1999-2006)
General manager of the Boston Bruins

Why he might be annoying:

His professional playing career lasted four games in the British League.
He hired Dave Lewis as the team's head coach only to fire him after one season (2006-07).
He looks far too dorky to be a general manager.
Some hockey panelists felt he only received the Bruins general manager position due to his Harvard background and after the team's original choice, Ray Shero elected to take the Penguins' vacant general manager job.

Why he might not be annoying:

He worked as a lawyer and a player agent prior to working in the Senators' front office.
He was the architect of the Bruins' first Stanley Cup winning team in 39 years (2011).
He drafted franchise cornerstones Tyler Seguin and Dougie Hamilton with two of the three draft picks he received in the Phil Kesseltrade.
He wisely signed Zdeno Chara upon taking the reigns of the Bruins in a decision that saw the latter establish himself as a franchise defenseman.
Despite his modest and low key nature, he is well respected by his peers.
