Why they might be annoying:

Their name is derived from the Australian Aborigine expression, describing low temperatures (the colder the night, the more dogs necessary to keep warm).
They were criticized as being too commercial.
Although Negron lead most vocals, the other two felt they were of equal talent, so the group broke up (1977).
Negron was a cocaine addict.
There reunited briefly in the early '80s.
Currently, Hutton, Wells, Greenspoon and Allsup tour the oldies circuit.

Why they might not be annoying:

On a 'Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In' appearance Sneed's drum was see-through and contained goldfish.
During the early 70's, they broke many arena attendance records.
Artists who wrote songs they covered are still receiving royalties.
'Joy To The World' was #1 for six weeks and the best selling of 1971.
'Joy To The World' was featured in the movie 'The Big Chill' (1983).
