Why he might be annoying:

He was the coach of the 'Bad Boys' Pistons teams of the late 1980's that were known for their cheap shots and thuggery.
He might have had the easiest coaching job ever when he coached the Dream Team in the Olympics (1992).
His time with the Cavaliers was very brief, as he was fired after leading them to 9 wins in 41 games.
By coaching the Magic, he became yet another coach-turned-TV analyst-turned-coach.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was successful in high school, college and pro ranks.
He is more of a player's coach than an iron-fisted coach.
He led the Pistons to two straight NBA championships (1989, 1990), becoming the fifth NBA coach to lead a team to back-to-back titles.
The Pistons never had consecutive winning seasons before he arrived, but the Pistons made the playoffs every year with him on the bench.
He was the first Hall of Fame coach to lead teams to an NBA championship and an Olympic gold medal.
He dressed very well.
