His trademark is his afro hairstyle and his idol campaign catch-phrase was 'Go the 'fro!'
He finished second to last in World Idol.
The runner-up for Australian Idol, Shannon Noll, has since become more popular and successful than him.
After admitting that he was a strict Christian and a virgin, a radio DJ jokingly gave his virginity away as a prize.
Considering some of the lyrics from his debut album, it is clear that the writers expected a female to win the competition.

The Idol grand final was the most watched non-sporting event in Australian broadcasting history.
His debut single 'Angles Brought Me Here' was the fastest selling single in Australian history, achieving triple platinum record sales in its first week.
His album 'Just As I Am' debuted at number 1 on the Australian charts and achieved 5x platinum record sales in its first week.
He is a great role model for young fans of the Idol phenomenon.
Paul Abdul was so impressed by his unique image that she claims she will look for a unique image for American Idol 4.
