Why Last Man Standing might be annoying:

It changed out cast members more than Bewitched and The Jeffersons combined.
Case in point, daughters Kristin and Mandy both switched actresses at different points in the show.
Kristin's baby daddy Ryan switched actors out between the first and second seasons (Nick Jonas played him in the first season).
Boyd Baxter, Kristin and Ryan's son, went through four different child actors (baby twins in the first season).
In Mandy's case, Molly Ephraim was busy on other projects when the move to FOX happened (rather than write her out they brought in a fake Jan that fans hated).
Boyd was also aged up five years between the first and second season in true Growing Pains fashion.
Its a counterpart to liberal-leaning sitcoms, with Mike often going on conservative pro-Republican tangents.
Those familiar with the star's own political views saw it as pretty much a political soap box for Allen.
It was basically a distaff counterpart extension of Tim Allen's previous show Home Improvement (manly do-it-yourself TV host with three sons vs. manly entrepreneur with three daughters and a grandson).
Like Home Improvement, Tim/Mike wears a lot of Michigan-based apparel on the show (its set in Colorado...).

Why Last Man Standing might not be annoying:

It drew comparisons to All in the Family.
Jay Leno and Bill Engvall had recurring roles.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas played Kristin's restaurant boss in a handful of episodes in the second and third seasons.
It tackled both the 2012 and 2016 Presidential elections in a way that was both funny and politically balanced without being preachy.
It was the second-highest rated sitcom for ABC's 16–17 season, but the network cancelled it anyway.
Its cancellation outraged fans who claimed political bias against its conservative viewership, sparking a boycott of the network.
A petition online to get the show back on the air drew over 200K signatures.
The backlash - and the surprise success of the pro-Trump Roseanne reboot - eventually led to FOX picking it up as part of its lineup.
Home Improvement's Tim 'The Toolman' Taylor crossed over and 'met' Mike Baxter in a final season episode.
It was family friendly but didn't shy away from topics like LGBT issues, alcoholism, drug use, bullying and racial tension.
