The Resume

    (July 15, 1824-July 14, 1914)
Born in Saratoga Springs, New York
    Born as George Speck
Owner of Crum’s Restaurant in Malta, New York
    Unintentionally created the potato chip

Why he might be annoying:

His creation of the potato chip was a well-known accident.
His creation also contributes to obesity
In response to a fussy customer who kept returning the fried potatoes he cooked, he sliced the potatoes extremely thin before frying to serve to the customer as an act of pettiness.
He intentionally cooked them crisp forcing the customer to use his hands to eat them instead of a fork.
He died before the potato chip became a mass market product.

Why he might not be annoying:

The customer ended up loving the crispy thin salted potatoes and the birth of the Saratoga Chips came about.
Before his chips, he was known among his customers to cook delicious wild meat dishes.
All of his cooking was enjoyed by the wealthy Manhattanites.
He has mixed heritage as his father was black and his mother was indigenous.
Salesman Herman Lay (Lay’s Chips) brought the chips to the southern states resulting in the further popularization of the snack and leading to its mass production.
His creation remains one of the most popular snack foods around.
