Famous for 'My Funny Valentine,' 'Just Friends' and 'But Not For Me'

During the sixties, he played only in Europe.

He died under mysterious circumstances, falling to his death from a window.

He was probably the most successful white trumpeter in jazz.
He was a talented singer and often sang 'scat' solos in the style of his trumpet playing.
He usually sang and played trumpet on the same songs.
He was a pioneer of the smooth 'cool jazz' style.
He was quite handsome in a James Dean sort of way.
