Baseball Player

The Resume

    (April 24, 1967- )
    Born in Caracas, Venezuela
Shortstop for the Seattle Mariners (1989-93), Cleveland Indians (1994-2004) and San Francisco Giants (2005-2008)
As of 2009, Major League Baseball record holder for most career games started at shortstop
Author of the book 'My Life'

Why he might be annoying:

The offensive statistics for the early part of his career aren't overly impressive.
He is known to field batted balls with his bare hands, a definite no-no with many little league coaches.
In his book, 'My Life,' he criticized teammate Jose Mesa's mental state during the 1997 World Series.
As a result, Mesa (a pitcher) intentionally hit Vizquel (the batter) on two separate occasions (2002 and 2006).
There was substantial debate in baseball circles about whether or not he belonged in baseball's Hall of Fame.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is one of the greatest defensive shortstops in the history of Major League Baseball.
He won nine consecutive AL Gold Gloves (1993-2001), then picked up two more in the NL (2005, 06).
He was named to three all-star teams (1998, 1999 and 2002).
He was involved in several community organizations in the United States, as well as in his native Venezuela.
He enjoys painting in his spare time.
