    He was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft, but refused to sign a contract with them.
    He lives an exuberant and flashy lifestyle.
    Despite his loyalty to New York City, he does not cheer for the Giants or the Jets, instead cheers for the New England Patriots.
    He claimed he was an emotional wreck following his breakup from Adriana Lima, which led to a three game suspension by the Mets after he no-showed to a game in which he was supposed to start (2017).
    He continued the Mets franchise trend of being one of its resident party boys.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is a fan of the Batman series and embraced 'The Dark Knight' moniker with open arms.
    He grew up a fan of the Yankees and the Rangers.
    He set a Mets franchise record for strikeouts recorded in a debut game (2012).
    He, along with Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard served as a formidable rotation for the team during the mid-2010's.
    He was the second Met in consecutive seasons to earn the Lou Gehrig Award (2016).
