The Resume

    (September 8, 1774-February 9, 1824)
    Born in Flamschen, Germany
    Roman Catholic Nun
    Author of ‘Dolorous Passion’

Why she might be annoying:

    Her writings are anti-semitic.
She influenced Mel Gibson's controversial film ‘The Passion of the Christ.’
She is a favorite among traditionalist Catholics who feel the current church is too moderate.
She promoted praying the rosary and receiving the Eucharist as remedies for illness.
Some have criticized her for having excessive devotion to the Virgin Mary.
She stated that Jews murdered Christian children to obtain their blood.

Why she might not be annoying:

It is possible that anti-semitism was put into her writings by the poet who exaggerated her visions when he put them on paper.
    She suffered from stigmata.
When Pope Benedict XVI visited her home, he treated it as a shrine.
