Why he might be annoying:

He has a weird and hard-to-spell name.
His face is projected onto the broken bust of the 'Grim Grinning Ghosts.'
He looked somewhat like Walt Disney. This has led to confusion, because many people assumed that his face in the Haunted Mansion was that of Disney.
He had a goofy mustache.
Although 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch' is an extremely well-known song, hardly anyone can identify him as its singer.
His two children are named Ron and Nancy (Reagan?).

He was a backup singer for Bing Crosby, Arlo Guthrie and Jim Nabors.
