Why he might be annoying:

He used a single letter in place of a first name.
A lot of his animation work went uncredited.
He was initially reluctant to transfer from animation to theme parks.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a photo interpreter for the US Air Force during World War II, analyzing aerial surveillance photos for military intelligence.
He said about writing the theme songs for Pirates and the Haunted Mansion, ‘I didn’t even know I could write music, but somehow Walt did. He tapped my hidden talents.’
His voice can be heard emanating from a talking skull on the Pirates ride and from a coffin in the Haunted Mansion’s conservatory.
His theory on why the movie ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ did not include a full version of ‘Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me)’: ‘I think if they play more than six bars of the song, they’d have to pay me a royalty. I think that’s why they didn’t go any farther.’
