In series two, it was the week leading up to the birth of their baby

Why The Worst Week of My Life might be annoying:

    Two words: Black cloud!
It was very predictable in that we knew things would constantly go awry.
The characters were unrealistically tolerant and forgiving of Howard Steel's screw ups.
Some of the joke set ups went on overly long.
It was not politically correct, it mocked the blind and gays.
It relied on slapstick and dark comedy.
Many claim it ripped-off 'Meet the Parents,' which was released four years prior (2000).

Why The Worst Week of My Life might not be annoying:

Despite the predictability the situations were quite humorous.
The writers prepared for the success of the series by merely changing the week before the wedding to the week before the birth of a baby, to get a second season.
The stories were well planned out that each episode was exactly one day in the life of that week.
BBC promoted it as 'The Planes, Trains and Automobiles for weddings.'
The series creators claim they were working on the series prior to 'Meet the Parents' and that any similarities are mere coincidence.
Co-star Sarah Alexander had great success on TV's Coupling.
If you like 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles' or 'Meet the Parents' this series is for you.
