He frequently butted heads with Terrell Owens during his tenure with the 49ers.
Owens addressed him as a 'homo' during an interview with Playboy magazine.
His performance declined after leaving the Niners.
He was released one year into a four-year contract with the Browns (2004).
He played in the shadows of Doug Flutie in Calgary and Steve Young in San Francisco.
He was arrested for DUI.

He made the Pro-Bowl in three of his first four NFL seasons.
He led the Stampeders to a Grey Cup championship after Doug Flutie left the team (1998).
He became the sixth quarterback in NFL history to record back to back 30 touchdown passing seasons.
He lost both his siblings at a young age.
He set new 49ers franchise passing records during his four year tenure with the team.
He successfully replaced Flutie and Young as a starting quarterback.
He led the second largest playoff comeback of all time, by coming back from 24 points down to beat the New York Giants.
