He had weird, curly hair.
He was a one-year wonder.
In 1977, he tore cartilage in his knee and only played 16 more games until 1980.
He chewed tobacco and usually spit the juice on his uniform.
He borrowed teammates' IDs to get drinks.
He had a habit of sticking his finger in coin return slots.
He talked to the baseball before pitching.
He posted a running total of crowds that attended his games on his locker.
He had a failed come back attempt with the Boston Red Sox in the early '80s.

Why he might not be annoying:

He posed on a Sports Illustrated cover with Big Bird from Sesame Street.
He offered to landscape the mound on occasion.
He got his big break after the normal starting pitcher got the flu.
He did not let fame get to his head and ended up owning his own farm and working as a contractor.
He went 19-9 with 24 complete games in his first season (1976).
